Serving Waynesboro, Augusta County & the Shenandoah Valley

Technical monograph reporting close-interval surface-water sampling along the South River below the Invista plant during January, March and May 2005. Methods, maps, and laboratory analyses (EPA Methods 1630/1631) are described. Results show longitudinal increases in total mercury and methylmercury (higher in May), elevated near-bank concentrations, a close Hg–MeHg relationship, and recommendations for continued longitudinal and transverse sampling.

Review Notes : Document header shows 'Rev. 0, 10/05' (interpreted as October 2005); sampling occurred January, March and May 2005 as described. I categorized this as a Monitoring Report (monitoring results/data) within Technical Documents based on content; it could alternatively be filed as a Data Report, but Monitoring Report matches the sampling/results focus.
