Serving Waynesboro, Augusta County & the Shenandoah Valley

This report presents the 2016 short-term monitoring (STM) baseline for Area of Concern 4 (South River, Waynesboro). June and October 2016 sampling at three STM stations assessed bank stability, mercury (THg/IHg) and MeHg in sediment, filtered pore water, periphyton, and transplanted Corbicula. Results show generally stable banks with localized erosion and mercury patterns consistent with prior studies; post-remediation monitoring will continue in 2017.
