Serving Waynesboro, Augusta County & the Shenandoah Valley

Slide deck presenting statistical analysis of total mercury (THg) in 2008 floodplain composite soil samples. Findings show THg is higher in frequently flooded (2‑yr) floodplains, decreases with elevation and distance from the river, and correlates negatively with clay% and positively with silt%. Models evaluated land use, floodplain frequency, reaches, and particle-size effects.
