Serving Waynesboro, Augusta County & the Shenandoah Valley

Slide presentation reporting statistical analysis of total mercury (THg) in 2008 floodplain surface soils along six river reaches. Uses log-transformed ANOVA and covariates (floodplain age, land use, distance/elevation, particle size, LOI). Results show higher THg in younger floodplains and certain land uses, decreasing with distance/elevation; hotspots near Dooms-Crimora and Grottoes.
