Serving Waynesboro, Augusta County & the Shenandoah Valley

Slide presentation (Nov 9, 2004) reporting a Vegetable Garden Study at the Augusta Forestry Center (Crimora, VA) by the South River Science Team. Objective was to determine whether soil mercury (Hg) is taken up by vegetables. Field trials compared floodplain and control gardens (randomized blocks); crop tissue analyses were generally below method detection limits. Plans for additional sampling and health-risk evaluation are outlined.

Review Notes : The PDF is a slide deck dated Nov 9, 2004 and names the South River Science Team. It is not explicit whether this was presented at an SRST meeting; I classified it as a standalone Presentation rather than an SRST Meeting Document for that reason.
