Criteria for the Selection of Bank Management Areas as Part of the Mercury Remedy in a Complex River System

This conference poster describes criteria used to identify Bank Management Areas (BMAs) for Phase 1 remediation of mercury-contaminated bank soils along the South River (RRMs 0–2) below a former DuPont textile plant. Methods include LiDAR, dendrochronology, erosion surveys, hydrologic modeling and Hg sampling; treatments range from vegetative stabilization to removal and disposal.
