Serving Waynesboro, Augusta County & the Shenandoah Valley

Slide presentation describing repeat terrestrial laser scanner (TLS) surveys of bank sites in the first 10 river miles of the South River (scanned 2006–07, 2013–14, and 2019). Methods include point-cloud alignment, removal of non-bank returns, gridded volume comparisons, and calculation of lateral erosion rates. Results show variable decadal erosion, anthropogenic impacts, and TLS agreement with multidecadal photogrammetry.
