Laboratory experiments examined mercury (Hg) and methylmercury (MeHg) release from river sediments and bank soils following simulated resuspension. Results show total Hg and dissolved Hg rose with suspended sediment load but declined quickly after disturbance ceased. Little net methylation occurred during 96-hour experiments; dissolved MeHg remained low and DOC additions produced inconclusive effects.

Review Notes : Document is from an 'Annual Meeting November 2004' and presents laboratory results by Robert Mason (Chesapeake Biological Laboratory). Category chosen as 'Presentations' because the header and text read like a meeting presentation/summary; however it could also be a short technical summary. No explicit link to South River Science Team or an exact publication title beyond the heading.
