Serving Waynesboro, Augusta County & the Shenandoah Valley

Slide presentation reporting characterization and treatment experiments for mercury-contaminated bank soils and sediments from the South River. Includes sediment digestions, chemical sequential extractions, column leaching tests, cumulative Hg release estimates, and batch/column treatment trials using biochars, cowboy charcoal and granular activated carbon. Results show variable Hg speciation, significant F4/F5 fractions, and promising Hg removal by selected chars and GAC.

Review Notes : The PDF is a slide deck with no visible publication or presentation date. The WordPress filename suggests an SRST meeting on April 26, 2011, but that date is not present on the slides; therefore no document_date was assigned. It is a general presentation (not explicitly labeled as an SRST meeting record within the PDF).
