Clean Water Lobby Day offers advocates the opportunity to lobby for environmental action in their district. This event is crucial for advancing policies that benefit clean water and meet Chesapeake Bay restoration goals. Prior to Lobby Day, a Zoom call will be hosted to discuss active legislation and budget requests, provide fact sheets, lobbying tips, best practices, and answer any questions to ensure participants feel comfortable.
The event will kick off at the parish hall of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, a short walking distance from the General Assembly Building and Virginia Capitol, from 8:00 a.m.–8:30 a.m. CBF will schedule in-person meetings with legislators and fellow advocates throughout the morning. The day will wrap up with lunch at St. Paul’s to recap the day’s activities and encourage attendees to sit in on a committee meeting in the afternoon. Attendees will receive details regarding their legislator meeting time in the days leading up to Lobby Day.
**Important**: During registration, participants will be asked if they would like the Chesapeake Bay Foundation to schedule their legislator meetings. If yes, they will be prompted to provide the names of their state delegate and state senator. If registering guests, please ensure this information is available before beginning the registration process.
