Slide deck reporting a 2016 field validation of an XRF method to measure soil mercury. JMU and AECOM collected 236 samples (9 BMAs) March 7–16, 2016, comparing field XRF to EPA Method 7471A. Key findings: MDL ~7.4 ppm (60 s), 37% of samples < MDL, strong agreement with lab (R2≈0.97, slope ≈1.018) and variability dominated by sample heterogeneity.
