Serving Waynesboro, Augusta County & the Shenandoah Valley

Slide deck presenting results of a web-based breeding bird survey for the South River and South Fork Shenandoah River watersheds (Sept 9, 2003). Purpose was to assess whether available data support evaluation of avian mercury exposure risks. Surveys (1984–1989) recorded 100–150+ species per subwatershed, with piscivores (herons, kingfisher, osprey, bald eagle). Includes water-column Hg criteria and site Hg comparisons.
