Serving Waynesboro, Augusta County & the Shenandoah Valley

Fact sheet (Nov 2015) reporting South River Science Team measurements of mercury in beef, dairy, chicken, and eggs from animals raised on South River floodplains. Muscle, organ, milk, and egg samples were analyzed and allowable monthly meal limits were calculated using USEPA methods. Milk had no detectable mercury; following the recommended limits makes consumption unlikely to pose a health concern.
