Briefing paper describing use of diffusion gradient in thin film (DGT) devices to measure total mercury (THg) and methylmercury (MeHg) in South River porewater. DGTs sample freely dissolved and molecular/nanometer-size Hg (<~10 nm), rejecting particulate-bound Hg. Monitoring (since 2010) at RRMs 0.1, 3.5, 11.8 shows storm-driven bank drainage causes large THg spikes; MeHg generally lower.
