Serving Waynesboro, Augusta County & the Shenandoah Valley

This slide deck (July 24, 2018) reports Phase III field monitoring of a floodplain amendment pilot at the former DuPont Waynesboro Site (AOC 4). Tests evaluated biochar additions (5–10%, chip and medium) for effects on soil mercury (THg/MeHg), terrestrial vegetation and invertebrates (earthworms). Preliminary results show no detectable MeHg in soil and no apparent adverse effects or significant Hg changes; final report pending.
