Serving Waynesboro, Augusta County & the Shenandoah Valley

This slide deck presents a July 2006 geomorphology update for the South River study reach. It documents shoreline changes and five styles of bank erosion (1937–2005), maps fine-grained channel-margin mud deposits and radiocarbon ages (range >55 to 10 years, average ~13 for younger deposits), estimates mud storage, bed-material trends, and sediment–Hg source hypotheses.
