Serving Waynesboro, Augusta County & the Shenandoah Valley

University of Delaware researchers present a geomorphology update describing LiDAR bank surveys and benchmarked field mapping of eroding reaches, rectified historical aerial-photo analysis (1937–2005), and development of two erosion models: a bend-migration hydraulic model and a bank-profile empirical erosion model based on Brandywine Creek event data. Results and model evaluation, data needs, and next steps are summarized.
