Serving Waynesboro, Augusta County & the Shenandoah Valley

This briefing paper reports mercury isotope (MDF and MIF) measurements from sediments, bank soils, suspended particles and preliminary water samples along a South River longitudinal transect. Results show isotopically distinct regional-background and contamination-source signatures, a two-endmember mixing behavior in streambed sediments, and preliminary evidence for downstream photochemical reduction and Hg(0) loss.

Review Notes : Document is a briefing paper prepared for a South River Science Team meeting (Remediation Options Program). I categorized it as a Technical Report because it presents field sampling, analytical methods, and preliminary interpretation rather than meeting minutes or an agenda. If the repository prefers meeting-related items, it could alternatively be filed under SRST Meeting Documents.
