Serving Waynesboro, Augusta County & the Shenandoah Valley

Slide presentation summarizing three field pilot studies at the former DuPont Waynesboro AOC 4 (December 11, 2018). Floodplain carbon-amendment trial showed no unintended impacts and temporary soil Hg reductions not sustained; earthworm Hg was unchanged. South River biochar deployments captured ~10 mg THg in a mid-channel BFS but produced negligible surface-water or clam responses. Knotweed herbicide trials found both methods effective.
