This October 2013 Remediation Proposal (prepared by DuPont with Anchor QEA and URS) presents an adaptive, phased cleanup strategy to address mercury contamination in the South River and a segment of the South Fork Shenandoah River. Phase 1 focuses on RRMs 0–2 emphasizing enhanced vegetative and structural bank stabilization, pilot in situ amendments, source controls, and a coordinated monitoring program.
