Presentation (June 24, 2003) reporting seasonal and sexual variation in mercury concentrations of smallmouth bass collected from the South Fork Shenandoah River. Researchers sampled fish seasonally, aged them with otolith annuli, and analyzed fillet mercury by CVAA (EPA method 245.6). Results (n=45) showed mercury increased with length and age, were higher in females, and peaked in spring.
