Serving Waynesboro, Augusta County & the Shenandoah Valley

Slide deck reporting microcosm 'shake and bake' experiments to quantify total and dissolved mercury (Hg) and methylmercury (MeHg) release during sediment resuspension. Water and sediment were monitored for T-Hg, MeHg, filtered/unfiltered Hg, TSS, and DOC effects. Results indicate MeHg generally tracked TSS, little net MeHg release on resuspension, and limited impact of resuspension duration.
