Presentation describing an optically-based pilot study to test near-real-time correlations between optical sensor measurements and mercury (Hg) and methylmercury (MeHg) in South River water. Instruments recorded CDOM, chlorophyll, turbidity/TSS, particle size, flow velocity, and standard water-quality parameters every 15–60 minutes during a one-month deployment. The study plan, sampling schedule, and analysis approach are outlined.
