Serving Waynesboro, Augusta County & the Shenandoah Valley

This December 11, 2001 slide presentation analyzes mercury (Hg) concentrations in South River sediments from samples collected across ~160 river miles in 1977–1997. ANOVA with rivermile and year factors (including interaction) found significant spatial and temporal variation (R² ≈ 0.65). Hotspots near rivermiles 5–20 (Dooms, Crimora, Grottoes) are noted; sediment–bass correlations were significant in 1981, 1987 and 1997.

Review Notes : The file is a slide deck dated December 11, 2001; I classified it as a standalone Presentation because the PDF does not explicitly tie it to a specific SRST meeting. Numeric results, years, and the rivermile hotspots are taken directly from the slides.
