This survey measured total mercury (THg) and methyl mercury (MeHg) in paired earthworm and surface soil samples from 12 vegetated floodplain locations along the South River. THg in earthworms ranged from ~10% to <60% of paired soils (R2=0.72). MeHg was 15–70 times higher in earthworms than soils (R2=0.42). Substantial within-site variability was observed.

Review Notes :
PDF provides methods, site count, and quantitative results but contains no explicit publication date or journal information. I classified this as a Technical Documents / Data Summary because it reports field sampling and analytical results rather than appearing as a peer-reviewed journal article.
